That's me and my wife Abby. We had water guns at our wedding. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
We didn't know our friends and family would react with such ... enthusiasm.

U.S. Naval AcademyI'm fortunate enough to work at an amazing place to teach, think, and write: The Department of Leadership, Ethics, and Law at the U.S. Naval Academy. We look to develop courses that incorporate both classical and contemporary writings in philosophy while keeping an eye towards how those theoretical constructs matter in the context of modern military leadership.

Climate JusticePictured are discussions with members of Working Group for Social and Legal Aspects of Climate Change as part of the Dahrendorf Symposium on Climate Change, held at the Mary Robinson Foundation - Climate Justice. It was one of the highlights of my professional career. That's Mary Robinson, U.N. Special Envoy on Climate Change and former U.N. High Commissioner for Rights, pictured with Conor Gearty, Director of the London School of Economic's Institute for Public Policy. I'm pictured with Stephen Humpheys, Professor of Law, LSE.

Roller DerbyThere is perhaps no sport more sublime than Roller Derby. I love the sport so much I may or may not have spent four years as the mascot for my wife's D.C. based roller derby team, The Majority Whips. Now, at this point, you might be thinking "Marcus, these pictures seem to indicate rather unequivocally that you did, in fact, dress up as a giant pickle," to which I can only reply, "I can neither confirm nor deny that."
